Terance Smith aka G-Nerd is a local celebrity because of his accomplishments in the city and nationally as a dancer. G-Nerd has been a trendsetter in Memphis Jookin since 2006. Gnerd has won battles coast to coast in Paper Rock Scissors Dance Competition in San Francisco, CA and Battle Fest Dance Competition in Brooklyn, New York. Gnerd is one of Youtube favorites he has tallied up more than 500,000 views.
Tarrik Moore , Memphis native (Artistic Director, Choreographer, Dancer) founded the Tennessee based dance company, U-Dig Dance Academy in December 2006. With 15 years combined , Mr. Moore has trained in ballet, jazz, African dance, and hip hop. In addition to his work with U Dig, is also the dance instructor at Kipp Diamond Academy and coordinates five dance programs with the Memphis City Schools, Boys & Girls Clubs, St. Francis Catholic School, and the Healthy Life Sports Camp. In 2008, Mr. Moore was awarded the Knocdown Entertainment 1st Humanitarian Award, which was also named after Mr. Moore. He has received the Exhibition Momentum award from Rhodes College. Mr. Moore and U Dig Dance Academy have been recognized globally for Memphis Jookin in the Paris, France JusteDebout magazine, Apollo Theater, CBS , BET 106 & Park, and FOX 13. Mr. Moore also has a series of instructional dance videos that are sold worldwide.
